Phase 2 check in

0

Check in time. Phase 2 started back in April and went well. I lost about 12 lbs in 3 months which averages out to about 4 lbs per month. Not bad. Also, not super amazing either. But it all adds up over time. I’m slowly crawling towards my ultimate goal weight!

I know the weightloss is slowing down. It always does the closer I get to my goal. I’m nervous because this next phase is going to be more difficult. Because of the slow down but also because it is the middle of summer and going to be hard to workout outside. The family and I currently workout in the garage and it gets uncomfortably hot in there. I can’t imagine being able to continue when it gets hotter.

Trying to be optimistic though. I will just take it day by day, week by week and get workouts in any way I can. Early mornings, evenings, maybe even join a gym if we can afford it! Temporarily if needed.

Last week, we didn’t feel like being stuck in the garage, so I took the kids on one of my favorite hikes. They loved it! The views are always stunning and my kids said the cars looked like little toys.

Being that high up does make me nervous though. I have always suffered from anxiety, and this has helped me push past my comfort zone. Hiking in general makes me nervous because you don’t know what kind of wild life will be out there. My kids are way too brave and I’m afraid they’ll walk right on top of a rattle snake or something! On top of that, in our local news recently, a hiker was stabbed by another group of men hiking that “didn’t like how they looked at them” Crazy!

I prefer to hike in groups of adults, but it was a nice experience to share with my kids.

So, I’m going to continue going on as I have been for phase 3. Another 3 months that will go into October, right before the holiday craziness starts! I am hoping to lose another 10 pounds by then to keep my goal small and doable. 15 would be great, but man…it’s a lot of pressure and I don’t want to get my hopes up and cause a burn out. I still have a while to go before I reach my maintenance weight range. I wanted to be there by now, but life is life. From my previous yo yo dieting attempts, I’ve learned that trying to push myself to lose that much in as short a time as possible leads to burn out and quitting. I want this time to be for good and to finally learn how to maintain my weight loss!

That’s all for now, just continuing on bit by bit, day by day!

Happy goal getting!
